CHEF VEERA GAUL Ph.D.
Veera is a trained chef and educator whose passion for food led her into the hospitality industry and into a 22-year career at Johnson & Wales University, an acclaimed culinary and hospitality institution. During her entire career there she continued to study culinary topics such as nutrition, modernist cuisine and food chemistry. She also served on many project teams including leading a team that collaborated with Tulane Medical School to create a culinary curriculum for all medical students.
In 2013, Chef Veera joined husband Joe, to open an Oil & Vinegar franchise store in downtown Greenville SC. This gave her the opportunity to once again pursue her first loves – cooking and teaching. Veera is a huge proponent of the Mediterranean Diet (she calls it a Lifestyle) and is excited to share her culinary expertise and enthusiasm for healthy and flavorful food. She often uses the artisan-made small-batch products of the store to encourage others to learn how easy it is to adopt a flavorful and healthy, yet gourmet lifestyle.
Chef Veera has offered in-store tasting events and cooking demos since the inception of the Oil & Vinegar store in Greenville SC. In the current environment, she has transitioned to offering her expertise via new interactive Zoom classes.
