Rio Largo extra virgin olive oil is made in the sunny, South-African coastal province of Western Cape. The olive oil is pressed from a mix of Frantoio, Leccino, Coratina and Mission olives. Fantoio olives are known for their fruity nuts, whereas Coratina olives are lauded for their strong, sharp and peppery flavor and Leccino olives for their soft and balanced flavor. The exact ratios of the olives is a family secret, but the result is a high-grade extra virgin olive oil with a very refined and balanced flavor.
These olives are grown with love and care at the orchards of the family business. The sunny Western Cape is especially suitable for growing olives. The olives of Rio Largo are grown on the sloping hills of Breede River Valley.
