Truffle Honey 120g/4.2oz
The taste of this Truffle Honey is sweet and soft, but with the distinct flavor of truffle. You can taste it best if you let the honey be the center of attention. Therefore, the honey is best with soft and mild cheeses, such as goat cheese, sheep cheese or brie. A little bit goes a long way. The honey also goes well with mature cheeses such as camembert (tip: heat in the oven), blue cheese or pecorino. Or try in combination with matured meat (dry-aged) or over smoked salmon.
The honey is millefiori, Italian for "a thousand flowers." Millefiori is the honey of the Italian spring and summer months. These are the months during which many trees, plants and flowers are in full bloom and provide an abundance of pollen. This honey is enriched with fine slices of summer truffle. The truffles come from the Italian forests and grow underground. Truffles cannot be cultivated. Therefore, they are collected by seasoned truffle hunters, who, thanks to the good nose of their specially trained tracking dogs, are able to track down this special natural product.
